We at Final Frontier Designs do not hide our fandom for the Kansas City Chiefs. Frequently, as we’re making our products we’re listing to a YouTube channel called “How bout those Cheifs”. One day, as we were workign on product while listening to the channel, we had an idea to make a board that featured the colors of the Chiefs.

When it comes to matching Kansas City Chiefs red we had to source some Red Heart, which is rare. It also isn’t inexpensive. We were able to find some at a hardwood store in the Kansas City, MO area. For matching Kansas City Chiefs yellow, we decided to go with Yellow Heart. Yellow Heart is more common than Red Heart, but it’s hard to find in a golden yellow color that we needed, and is also hard to find that’s not full of worm holes. We found a plank of this rare wood at a hardwood store in St. Charles, MO.

We combined our Red Heart and Yellow Heart and decided it was missing something, so we decided to toss in some very small strips of Maple which yields the design you see today. Yes, these boards are a bit on the pricey side. The species of wood to craft this board are hard to find, and then finding planks that meet our rigorous standards is no small feat. It took us months to find the material that went into these boards.
