About the “Maximum Warp” line of products
The original Maximum Warp board was made with a small piece of Bloodwood that we purchased from a local hardwood store. We had never worked with Bloodwood before and we only had a small amount, so we cut it up into various sizes, tossed in some Cherry and Maple and came up with the design you see today.
We named this board “Maximum Warp” as the prominent species in this design resembles the trails of light that are left behind when a ship goes to warp in Star Trek. The larger, outer strips resemble the light left behind from the warp nacelles and the smaller, inner strips resemble the light left behind from the impulse engines.
This design comes in two variants featuring Bloodwood and Wenge.
